TEDxClevelandStateUniversity Speaker Profile: Sabine Kretzschmar

As TEDxClevelandStateUniversity approaches, we'll profile each speaker who will take the stage at the event.

Meet Sabine Kretzschmar.

Sabine Kretzschmar is an art historian and museum professional with more than 30 years of experience as a curator, museum educator, collections director and university lecturer. She is director of the Education Art Collection at the Cleveland Museum of Art, where she oversees a teaching collection of more than 10,000 objects spanning 6,000 years of human history and develops hands-on learning experiences for people of all ages.

Her passion for museums began at age 10 during a visit to Pompeii, where a pair of ancient Roman dice revealed that history is made of real people with lives not so different from our own. That moment inspired a lifelong career devoted to helping others discover how authentic objects can spark curiosity, deepen understanding and create meaningful human connections across time and cultures.

The topic of her talk is How to Explore the World One Object at a Time: How Objects Inspire Curiosity, Discovery and Life-Long Learning.
