Cleveland State University celebrated the official opening of the Glasscock Academic Center on Thursday, Oct. 22, at the newly named Ahuja College of Business and Entrepreneurship. The event marks an important milestone in the University's commitment to student success, academic excellence and career preparation.

Named in recognition of Cleveland State alumni and longtime supporters Larry and Lee Glasscock, the Center brings together academic advising, scholarship programs, experiential learning and career development opportunities to provide students with a more connected and comprehensive educational experience.

“The Glasscock Academic Center represents a significant step forward in how we support our business students,” said Anne Nelson, Senior Assistant Dean of Academics and Student Affairs at the CSU Ahuja College of Business and Entrepreneurship. “By bringing academic undergraduate and graduate degree progression services, scholarships, experiential learning and career development along with recruiting engagement services together, we are creating a more connected student experience. Our goal is to ensure that every student has access to the resources, guidance and opportunities they need to succeed academically, grow professionally and confidently transition from college to career.

The Center builds upon the Glasscock family’s longstanding commitment to making business education accessible and helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. In 2014, the Glasscock family established the Glasscock Scholarship Program, which provides comprehensive financial support for undergraduate business students, including tuition, room and board, and textbooks. The program is designed to help students earn their degrees in four years and graduate debt-free.

The opening comes just eight days after Cleveland State announced a transformational gift from the Ahuja family and the new name of the Ahuja College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Together, these milestones reflect the college's continued evolution and its focus on preparing adaptable, innovative and career-ready graduates.

The Oct. 22 celebration recognized the Glasscocks' generosity and the faculty, staff and University partners who helped bring the Center to life.
