General Fee Advisory Committee (GFAC)
The General Fee Advisory Committee (GFAC) is a student-led committee responsible for reviewing and advising on the allocation of General Fee funds to campus organizations and programs. It plays a key role in ensuring that student organizations receive the financial support they need to enhance student life at Cleveland State University.
GFAC includes representatives from various student organizations and appointed student members who provide input on budget allocations and financial planning.
How Does GFAC Help Students?
GFAC supports student engagement and campus activities by:
- Funding Student Organizations – Ensuring that student-run clubs, media outlets, and events receive financial backing.
- Enhancing Campus Life – Supporting student-led initiatives in areas like sports, media, multicultural activities, and leadership programs.
- Ensuring Financial Transparency – Reviewing budget requests and allocating funds responsibly to maximize student benefits.
- Providing Leadership Opportunities – Allowing students to actively participate in financial decision-making for campus organizations.
Important Dates (Spring 2025)
Committee Meetings
GFAC meetings will take place on the last Friday of each month at 12:00 PM in the 3rd floor Student Center Conference Room:
- February 28, 2025
- March 28, 2025
- April 25, 2025
Key Deadlines
- February 14, 2025 – Notification emails sent to GFAC members and student organizations.
- March 1, 2025 – Deadline to apply for the three (3) open GFAC appointment slots.
- April 25, 2025 – Final deadline for student organizations to submit budget summaries for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Failure to submit budget summaries by April 25, 2025, may result in the loss of active organization status and ineligibility for General Fee funding.
Summer Engagement
GFAC members will remain active during the summer to ensure a smooth transition into the next fiscal year. This allows the committee to review budget plans and make necessary adjustments before the new academic year begins.
