Urban Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Graduate Certificate

Format: On Campus

Learn to effectively utilize GIS technology in urban environments. Discover the principles of GIS and advanced methods through practical applications and individual GIS-based projects to foster a comprehensive understanding of spatial information analysis and management. This program is open to degree-seeking graduate students and non-degree graduate students with program permission. The certificate program consists of 12 credit hours.

Unlock the potential of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in urban contexts to utilize spatial data and address urban planning and development issues. Prepare for a career in urban design, transportation planning and environmental analysis. The certificate program consists of 12 credit hours.

Urban Health Certificate
Urban Health Certificate

Format: On Campus

Designed for students who are underrepresented in medicine and interested in a career in urban primary care, this certificate program gives you the foundation to gain acceptance to, and ultimately excel in medical school. Students who are admitted to the program complete an undergraduate Urban Health Certificate (minimum of 19 credits including eight credits of urban health, eight credits of clinical science and three credits of professional development courses) while also completing the science prerequisites needed for medical school.

Format: On Campus

Designed for post-baccalaureate students who have competitive GPAs and have completed the majority of their undergraduate medical school prerequisites. The program integrates a Graduate Urban Health Certificate into the Master of Health Sciences curriculum, offering courses in urban health and clinical science. Students also participate in professional development courses to enhance critical analysis skills. The certificate program consists of 16-19 credit hours.

Earn a Juris Doctor and a Master of Urban Planning and Development in just four years, rather than the traditional five. Gain a well-rounded education that combines legal knowledge and expertise in urban planning and development to become an effective urban planner.
